Financial Planning

One Financial Life. One Coordinated Plan.

Based in The Woodlands, Texas, Catalano Financial provides comprehensive financial planning for individuals, families and business owners throughout the greater Houston area.

Financial planning isn’t about accumulating more financial products. It’s about making sure the financial decisions you make today support the life you want tomorrow.

At Catalano Financial, we help individuals, families and business owners bring the different pieces of their financial lives together into one coordinated strategy.

Our planning process begins with your Financial Road Map®—a conversation designed to understand what’s important to you, what you want your money to accomplish and where you stand today.

Investments, retirement income, taxes, insurance, cash flow and estate considerations shouldn’t be treated as unrelated decisions. Each can influence the others.

Our approach begins by understanding what matters most to you, identifying what your money needs to accomplish and developing a financial plan around those priorities.

Because a good financial plan should serve your life—not the other way around.

What Does Your Money Need to Accomplish?

When it comes to money, the numbers are only part of the story.

Over more than 30 years in financial services, I’ve learned something important:

“It’s not about the money—it’s the emotion behind the money.”

Money represents different things to different people. For some, it’s security and independence. For others, it’s providing for family, building a business, enjoying retirement or leaving a meaningful legacy.

Before we discuss investments or financial strategies, I want to understand what’s important to you.

What are you working toward?

What concerns keep you up at night?

What would financial confidence allow you to do differently?

Your answers help us establish priorities and build a financial plan that reflects your values, circumstances and goals.

The purpose of financial planning isn’t simply to accumulate wealth. It’s to use your financial resources to support the life you want to live.

What Goes Into a Comprehensive Financial Plan?

A comprehensive financial plan looks at your entire financial picture—not just your investment accounts.

At Catalano Financial, we help coordinate the decisions that influence your financial future.

Investment & Wealth Management

Developing an investment strategy that reflects your goals, risk tolerance, time horizon and income needs. See How We Build Your Investment Strategy.

Retirement Income Planning

Evaluating how your savings, investments, Social Security, pensions and other resources can work together to provide income throughout retirement.

Cash Flow & Financial Organization

Understanding where your money comes from, where it goes and how to organize your financial resources around your priorities.

Insurance & Risk Management

Reviewing life insurance, disability coverage, annuities and other strategies designed to help protect your income, family and financial future.

Tax-Aware Financial Planning

Considering the tax implications of investment decisions, retirement distributions, Roth conversions and other financial strategies in coordination with your tax professionals.

Estate & Legacy Considerations

Helping you coordinate financial decisions with your estate-planning attorney so your assets and beneficiary arrangements reflect your intentions.

Business Owner Planning

Coordinating personal wealth with business finances, retirement plans, succession considerations and potential business-sale decisions.

The value comes from understanding how these decisions affect one another—and building a coordinated strategy rather than addressing each issue in isolation.

How We Work Together

A financial plan should be more than a document. It should provide direction and evolve as your life changes.

Our planning process is built around understanding your priorities, organizing your financial life and helping you make informed decisions.

1. Discover What’s Important

We begin with a conversation about your goals, priorities, concerns and what you want your money to accomplish.

2. Understand Your Financial Picture

We review your current financial situation, including investments, retirement accounts, income, insurance, liabilities and other relevant financial considerations.

3. Develop Your Financial Strategy

We identify opportunities, evaluate alternatives and develop recommendations designed to coordinate the different areas of your financial life.

4. Put Your Plan Into Action

A financial plan only becomes valuable when it’s implemented. We help establish priorities, coordinate with your other professionals when appropriate and guide you through the next steps.

5. Review and Adjust

Your life, financial circumstances and priorities will change. Depending on your planning relationship, we can provide ongoing reviews and guidance to help keep your financial strategy aligned with your goals.

Our objective is simple: help you understand where you stand, where you’re going and what decisions deserve your attention.

What Does Comprehensive Financial Planning Cost?

The standard fee for Comprehensive Financial Planning is $6,000 per household.

Many clients begin with a $500 Financial Road Map®, where we identify what’s important to you, what your money needs to accomplish and where you stand today.

If you move forward with Comprehensive Financial Planning within six months after your Financial Road Map® is delivered, the $500 Road Map fee is credited toward your financial planning fee. Planning fees may vary depending on the scope and complexity of the engagement.

Is Comprehensive Financial Planning Right for You?

You don’t have to manage every financial decision yourself.

Comprehensive financial planning is particularly valuable for individuals, families and business owners whose financial lives have become increasingly complex.

You may benefit from working with Catalano Financial if you:

  • Have accumulated meaningful financial resources but don’t want to manage every financial decision yourself.
  • Are approaching retirement and want to understand how your assets can support your lifestyle.
  • Have investments, retirement accounts, insurance and other financial arrangements that need to work together.
  • Own a business and want to coordinate your personal financial future with your business decisions.
  • Are navigating a major financial transition, such as retirement, an inheritance, a career change or the sale of a business.
  • Value an ongoing relationship with a financial advisor who understands your priorities and helps you evaluate important decisions.

You don’t necessarily need more financial products or more complicated strategies:

You need a clear financial picture, a coordinated plan and someone who understands what you’re trying to accomplish.

At Catalano Financial, we work especially well with people who value professional guidance and prefer to delegate financial planning rather than manage every detail themselves.
