It’s not about the money. It’s the emotion behind the money.
Peter Catalano is the founder and financial advisor at Catalano Financial, an independent financial advisory firm in The Woodlands, Texas. He has been helping people make financial decisions since 1992.
Money is important because of what it allows us to do for the people and things we value most.
For more than 30 years, his work has included financial planning, investment and wealth management, retirement income planning, insurance and annuity planning, 401(k) and rollover decisions, and financial planning for business owners.
Peter holds the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation, earned February 1, 1999, and the Chartered Life Underwriter® (CLU®) designation, earned November 1, 2001, from The American College of Financial Services. Together, his professional education encompasses comprehensive financial planning as well as specialized education in life insurance and risk management.
Why the ChFC® matters
The American College of Financial Services notes that while there are more than 300,000 financial advisors in the United States, only about one in six has the experience and education to help create a comprehensive financial plan personalized to an individual’s needs.

Catalano Financial is an independent Registered Investment Adviser.
That independence allows Peter to focus on the client’s financial life and the strategies appropriate for it—not the products or priorities of a large financial institution.
But his role goes beyond managing investments.
For clients who want to delegate, Peter helps connect the pieces—investments, retirement, taxes, insurance, business decisions and other financial priorities—while working with attorneys, accountants and other professionals when their expertise is needed. Peter believes good financial planning begins with understanding what the money is ultimately supposed to accomplish.
“It’s not about the money—it’s the emotion behind the money.”
The numbers matter. But financial decisions can also involve family, security, independence, opportunity and legacy. Understanding those priorities helps put the financial strategy in context.
