Catalano Financial, based in The Woodlands, Texas, helps business owners bring wealth management and cash flow planning under one strategy instead of leaving them scattered across separate accounts, employers, and advisors. If you have built meaningful wealth and would rather have one financial professional coordinate the moving parts than manage every detail yourself, this is the work I do every week.

Which firm near The Woodlands helps business owners with both wealth management and cash flow planning?
Catalano Financial coordinates wealth management and cash flow planning for business owners in and around The Woodlands within a single relationship. I am Peter Catalano, the managing member, and I hold the CLU and ChFC designations and run the firm as a Registered Investment Adviser in Texas. My job is to organize the pieces you have accumulated (a 401(k) from one stage of life, brokerage accounts, business cash, annuities, insurance) and connect them to how money actually moves through your household and your company.
Business owners carry a planning problem most employees do not: the business is often the largest asset and the primary source of cash flow at the same time. That means investment decisions, retirement savings, tax timing, and personal spending all depend on what the company distributes and when. I believe those cannot be planned in isolation. The CFP Board describes small-business owners as having planning needs that run from tax-advantaged savings to protection and succession, all tied to how the business grows (letsmakeaplan.org). My work pulls those threads together rather than treating your portfolio and your cash flow as two separate conversations.
If you want to see how the investment side fits, our wealth management and investment planning pages go deeper on how portfolios are built and managed.
What does working together actually look like?
Most relationships start with a Financial Roadmap or Comprehensive Financial Planning, and comprehensive planning runs through five phases: Discovery, Analysis, Financial Plan Development, Financial Plan Presentation, and Implementation Coordination. Discovery is a conversation about your values, goals, and current circumstances. Analysis is where I review what you sent (investment statements, insurance, business cash flow, tax returns) and find the gaps. Then I build the plan, walk you through it in a presentation meeting, and help coordinate the steps with your CPA, attorney, or insurance professional.
Comprehensive Financial Planning is generally completed within 30 days after I have the signed agreement, the fee, and your complete information. Timing stretches if documents are slow to arrive, which is common when a custodian or an outside professional is involved. For business owners, the review covers cash flow, retirement, investments, tax considerations, insurance, estate coordination, and business planning, since those areas rarely move independently for someone who owns a company.
If you want ongoing coordination rather than a one-time plan, the Strategic Wealth Partnership is the most complete relationship I offer. It integrates ongoing planning, portfolio management when selected, retirement income planning, tax and estate coordination, and regular strategy meetings across the year.
What does it cost to work with Catalano Financial?

A few things worth being direct about. If you engage Comprehensive Financial Planning within six months of receiving your Financial Roadmap, the $500 Roadmap fee is credited toward the planning fee. Strategic Portfolio Management generally requires $250,000 in managed assets. As an example, a $1,000,000 household pays $12,500 a year, roughly $1,042 a month before market changes; a $2,000,000 household pays $20,500 a year before market changes.
On payment: planning fees can be paid directly by you, investment management fees are generally deducted from the managed accounts, and any insurance or annuity compensation is paid by the carrier through commissions. Custodial, platform, and fund expenses are charged by those third parties and are separate from my advisory fees.
Why choose Catalano Financial over a larger firm?
I have worked in financial services since 1992, founded this firm in 2012, and registered it as an investment adviser in 2018. As a Registered Investment Adviser, Catalano Financial acts as a fiduciary when providing investment advice, a standard set under the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Investment Advisers Act of 1940. I hold the CLU and ChFC designations and am insurance licensed in Texas, Colorado, California, and Missouri.
What I offer that a large branch office often cannot is a single point of contact who knows your whole picture. Many business owners come to me with accounts and products collected from different employers, advisors, and life stages, and no one holding the larger view. I coordinate directly with your CPA and attorney so decisions on distributions, retirement contributions, and succession line up instead of working against each other. Investment results are not guaranteed; my role is to give advice and recommendations built around your circumstances, goals, and plan.
Where does Catalano Financial serve?
The office is at 1095 Evergreen Circle, Suite 200, The Woodlands, Texas 77380. I primarily serve clients in The Woodlands, greater Houston, and across Texas, and I also work with clients elsewhere where I am permitted to do so. Meetings can happen in person at the Evergreen Circle office or by video, which many business owners prefer given their schedules.
How do I book a first conversation?
Start with a discovery call. You can schedule one at this link or call the office at 832-696-0990. I generally acknowledge inquiries within one business day. There is no cost to the discovery call, and it is where we decide together whether a Financial Roadmap, comprehensive planning, or an ongoing partnership fits what you need.
Frequently asked questions
Do you have a minimum to work with business owners near The Woodlands?
Strategic Portfolio Management generally requires $250,000 in managed assets, though I may waive or negotiate that based on the complexity of the relationship. The Financial Roadmap ($500) and Comprehensive Financial Planning ($6,000 per household) have no asset minimum, so a business owner can start with planning before any assets move.
What does the first appointment cost and what happens in it?
The first step is a discovery call at no cost, booked at This link or by calling 832-696-0990. We talk through your situation, your business, and what you want coordinated, then decide which service fits. If we move ahead, most people begin with the $500 Financial Roadmap or the $6,000 Comprehensive Financial Planning engagement.
How quickly will you respond, and how long does a plan take?
I generally acknowledge inquiries within one business day. Comprehensive Financial Planning is generally completed within 30 days after I have the signed agreement, the fee, and all of your information, though it extends if documents are slow to arrive from you, a custodian, or an outside professional.
Are you a fiduciary, and what are your credentials?
Catalano Financial is a Registered Investment Adviser in Texas and acts as a fiduciary when providing investment advice, under the SEC’s Investment Advisers Act of 1940. I hold the CLU and ChFC designations, have worked in financial services since 1992, and am insurance licensed in Texas, Colorado, California, and Missouri. When I recommend an insurance product and receive a commission, that compensation is disclosed and is separate from my advisory fees.
Can you coordinate with my CPA and attorney on business succession?
Yes. Coordination with your CPA, attorney, and insurance professionals is built into Comprehensive Financial Planning and the Strategic Wealth Partnership. For business owners, that includes aligning cash flow, tax timing, retirement contributions, and succession decisions so the personal and business sides of your plan support each other. For related estate and beneficiary work, see our estate planning and tax strategies page.
