Wealth Management Is More Than Managing a Portfolio
As your financial life grows, the decisions become more connected.
Your investments affect your retirement. Taxes influence when and how you take income. Insurance protects what you’ve built. Estate decisions determine what happens to it. Catalano Financial provides wealth management in The Woodlands, Texas, for individuals, families and business owners who want help coordinating their financial lives.
We begin by understanding what’s important to you, what you want your money to accomplish and where you are today. From there, we can help you determine the level of advice and ongoing involvement that makes sense for your financial life. For some clients, that means professional management of their investment portfolio. For others, it means something much broader: an ongoing strategic relationship designed to help coordinate the many financial decisions that come with greater wealth and complexity.
Because the goal isn’t simply to manage your money. It’s to help your money support the life you want to live.
Two Ways to Delegate Your Wealth Management
Not every client needs the same level of involvement.
Catalano Financial offers two ongoing advisory relationships depending on how much of your financial life you want us to help manage and coordinate.
Strategic Portfolio Management
For clients who primarily want to delegate the management of their investments, Strategic Portfolio Management provides professional, ongoing management of the assets entrusted to Catalano Financial.
Your portfolio is designed around your goals, risk tolerance, time horizon, liquidity needs, tax considerations and other circumstances. We monitor the portfolio over time and make adjustments when appropriate to help keep your investment strategy aligned with your objectives.
Strategic Wealth Partnership
For clients who want more than investment management, the Strategic Wealth Partnership is our most comprehensive ongoing advisory relationship. It is designed to help coordinate your broader financial life—including investments, retirement income, ongoing financial planning, tax and estate planning coordination, insurance and risk management, business interests, charitable planning and collaboration with your other trusted professionals when appropriate.
The difference is simple: one focuses primarily on managing your portfolio. The other helps you manage the bigger financial picture.
When Your Financial Life Needs More Coordination
As wealth grows, financial decisions rarely stay in separate boxes.
A retirement decision may affect taxes. A business decision may affect your personal cash flow and estate plan. An investment held somewhere else may change the risk of the portfolio we manage. Insurance, charitable giving and family decisions can all influence the bigger picture. The Strategic Wealth Partnership is designed for clients who want an advisor helping them see and coordinate that entire picture.
It may be appropriate when you have:
- Multiple investment and retirement accounts
- Significant assets held outside Catalano Financial
- A closely held business or other business interests
- More complex retirement and income decisions
- Tax or estate planning considerations requiring coordination
- Insurance and risk-management needs
- Charitable or legacy goals
- Multiple professionals—such as a CPA and attorney—whose work needs to fit together
You remain in control of your decisions. Our role is to help you understand how the pieces connect, identify what deserves attention and coordinate the financial strategy as your life evolves.
Instead of managing every financial relationship and decision on your own, you have someone helping you keep the bigger picture in view.
An Ongoing Strategic Relationship
Wealth management shouldn’t be something you revisit only when the market moves or an account needs attention. Your financial life continues to change. You retire. Your income changes. You sell a business. Tax laws change. Family circumstances evolve. New opportunities appear. Through the Strategic Wealth Partnership, we stay engaged as those changes occur.
Depending on your needs, our ongoing work may include financial planning updates, investment management, retirement income planning, risk-management reviews, tax and estate planning coordination, business and charitable planning, and coordination with your other trusted professionals. Regular Strategy Meetings help us review where you are, what has changed and what decisions deserve attention next.
The objective is not simply to give you a plan. It’s to provide an ongoing financial relationship that evolves with your life.
Choose the Level of Advice You Need
Catalano Financial offers two different ways to establish an ongoing advisory relationship.
Strategic Portfolio Management
For clients who want professional investment management, our fees are based on the assets we manage using a progressive schedule:
| Fee-Eligible Assets | Annual CF Fee |
|---|---|
| First $1 million | 1.25% |
| $1 million–$5 million | 0.80% |
| Above $5 million | 0.50% |
Each rate applies only to the assets within that tier. Strategic Portfolio Management generally begins with $250,000 in managed assets.
Strategic Wealth Partnership
For clients who want Catalano Financial involved in the broader coordination of their financial life, the Strategic Wealth Partnership uses an annual advisory fee rather than simply charging for investment management.
Annual fees generally begin at $15,000 and are determined by the scope and complexity of the relationship, the level of ongoing advice required and the coordination involved.
The Strategic Wealth Partnership may include Strategic Portfolio Management when selected, but its value extends beyond the investment accounts we manage. The relationship is designed around ongoing planning, strategic advice and coordination across your financial life.
You choose the relationship that fits the level of delegation and coordination you need.
It Starts With Your Financial Road Map®
Before deciding how your wealth should be managed, we believe there is a more important question to answer:
What does your money need to accomplish for you?
That’s why many relationships with Catalano Financial begin with the Financial Road Map®.
During this 60–90 minute working session, we step away from products and portfolios and focus first on what’s important to you, what you want your money to accomplish and where you stand today. Your Financial Road Map® helps us identify the opportunities, decisions and areas of your financial life that deserve attention. From there, we can determine whether Comprehensive Financial Planning, Strategic Portfolio Management, a Strategic Wealth Partnership—or another course of action—makes sense for you.
If you decide to move forward with Comprehensive Financial Planning within six months, your $500 Road Map fee is credited toward the financial planning fee.
